The largest earthquake of the domestic record occurred mainly in the eastern Japan district on March 11th, yesterday.
In Nishiwaki City of Hyogo Prefecture where I live, there were no shake of the largest earthquake. However, the enormous damage of the largest earthquake seems to exceed the damage of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake disaster in 1995 according to the report of the television and the Internet.
The fear of the tsunami which the video spreads makes feel the hugeness of the largest earthquake. I was surprised that not only cars but also big ships, piers, and houses were carried away. I could understand finally the meaning which "sea attacks" at the Nankai Earthquake in 1946 which my father experienced in old Hiwasa Town of Tokushima Prefecture.
I was to join the conference at Tokyo from the morning on March 12th, today. But it was canceled because of traffic confusion in the metropolitan area. When I imagine that the largest earthquake occurred at the next day of March 11th, I shudder.
I pray for the damage to decrease as much as possible.
